Happi is ... well, HAPPY! This little girl was released to rescue from a family who did not have time for her and her two sisters (Abigail and Pretti ... also on our site). She was rescued from a shelter at the age of six weeks and, along with her sisters, has lived basically her entire life in a dog pen. But no more! Happi is looking for a home where she can be an inside dog, at least most of the time! She does enjoy romping outside ... in fact, she LOVES having freedom to run, run, run and play, play, play! She will love having another dog or two to play with and she has settled in well with her foster brothers and sisters, with very little grumbling ... 24 hours after arrival, everyone is getting along beautifully! Happi, besides being happy, is also a nice-looking girl! We know her mother was a purebred Jack Russell Terrier, but we have no clue who daddy was and we are guessing he may have been a cairn terrier, simply because of her looks ... maybe he was a Schnauzer ... we just don't know. But whatever the mix, it works for this pretty girl! She loves everyone ... in fact, she is an overachiever in the love department, she just can't get close enough and wants to be the center of your life. This will probably calm down some once she gets into a home where she will be getting the attention she deserves. When separated from her sisters, she calms down quickly and wants to please. She is a small medium dog, weighing only 21 pounds. She is up to date on her shots and has just had her Pro-Heart six-month shot for heartworm prevention. She is also spayed and will be microchipped before adoption. She has been to the groomer every couple of months since birth and enjoys going, but she doesn't have to be groomed ... her hair grows to the length it is now and that's it ... a brushing a couple of times a week will keep her looking gorgeous! She rides great in the car and enjoys riding. She can use some work on a leash, because being a terrier, she wants to go, go, go and snoot, snoot, snoot! She is a smart girl and when I tell her it's crate time, in she goes. She will also sit perfectly for a treat and her dinner. ;) Happi has been in a home with children and is very good with kiddos, but because she is an active terrier, CHILDREN OVER THE AGE OF 8 WOULD BEST SUIT THIS DOG. There have been no accidents in the house since arrival, but we cannot say she or her sisters are 100% housetrained as we are being vigilant on potty breaks and teaching them the doggie door. So we think we are on the right track. A fenced yard is a must for this dog so she can have a safe place to exercise and play and she will also go to a non-smoking home due to her breed.
