Job Summary
The Automation Control Specialist is responsible for the overall supervision, operation and maintenance of the Process Control Servers, maintaining and upgrading of PLC hardware and software, analysis and upgrade PLC programs based on opportunities.
This positionplans and schedules work for plant team to Install, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and tune measurement and control devices which automate industrial manufacturing processes. Continuously evaluates all process control systems for reliability and proactively seeks methods to optimize the manufacturing processes.
Position Responsibilities
:Assists in the personnel management of department employees (e.g. selection of new hires, promotions, terminations, transfers, supervising, disciplining, training, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining staffing needs and productivity of the work force.
:Builds high performance teams, which drive system improvements, by utilizing coaching, feedback, personnel assessment, development plans, succession plans, promotion and disciplinary measures.
:Coordinates the services and activities of outside contractors as assigned for the purpose of ensuring that contracted work is completed in a safe, effective and timely manner that it meets facility and ConAgra standards and objectives.
:Responsible for insuring the quality of processes and products and insuring all employees follow Good Manufacturing Practices for food production.
:Education beyond high school including no less than two years of special training, vocational school and/or college courses. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
Position Qualifications
:PLC, electronics and instruments technician background preferred.
:Minimum 3+ years of related experience including supervisory and/or lead experience as an electronic technician or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Ability to read, write and comprehend English as it relates to job functions. Ability to work a flexible work schedule. Food industry experience preferred.
:Strong understanding of equipment automation and controls logic in conjunction with electrical equipment.
:Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work.
:Ability to interpret and work from instructions, penciled plans and sketches, and blue prints.
:Ability to communicate and coordinate with superiors, subordinates, vendors and industry personnel.
:Ability to estimate materials and labor costs.
:Skill in the use and care of all hand, shop tools and equipment of the electricians trade.
:Honeywell TDCxxxx/xxxx/Experion PKS, Emerson DeltaV, Yokogawa CSxxxx.
:HMI Software (RSView32/SE, Intellution Fix32/iFix, Wonderware InTouch/AppServer, WinCC.)
:Proficient using Touch Screen applications.
:Working knowledge of process control servers.
:Working knowledge of motor controls and variable frequency drives, servo drives, DC drives.
:Working knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70EExperience in electrical installation, (conduit layout and wiring.)
