Job Title Material Handler - 2nd shift Groups Valves & Measurement Business Group Process Valves Department Warehouse/Shipping City LITTLE ROCK State/Province ARKANSAS Payroll Status Contract/Temporary Job Description Inventory Control, pull work orders, stock and receive material following the procedures set up in SAP R3 system. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area. Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination, or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials, or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Lifts heavy objects (up to 35 lbs) by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators. Shovels loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals, into machine hoppers, or into vehicles, and containers such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck, or barrels. Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Prep product for paint, as needed. Observe plant safety rules and report any unsafe conditions. Education/Experience: Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals. They should be able to follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formats. Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic math functions by hand, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of both internet and Manufacturing software. Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to become, and remain, a certified fork truck operator and ability to operate other various equipment, such as nail guns, saws, and painting equipment.
