Research Associate / Postdoctoral Fellow Print Job Number: Pxxxx0Research Associate Position Graduate Institute of Technology University of Arkansas at Little Rock The Graduate Institute of Technology at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock invites applications for a Research Associate/Postdoc (Pxxxx0) to primarily work on materials deposition and characterization of semiconductor nanostructures. The position is a full-time, non-classified, twelve-month appointment with benefits. The Research Associate/Postdoc will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties: operating the lab facilities for necessary experiments in the physics labs at UALR, overseeing and ensuring proper operations and maintenance of the facilities in support of scientific research; synthesize nanostructures and thin films using physical and chemical processes; material characterization including structural and physical properties by various techniques such as SEM, TEM, PL, UV-Vis absorption, and electrical transport; training both graduate and undergraduate students to perform research in related areas; disseminate research finding by writing manuscripts for publication and presenting data in national and international conferences; participate in lab tours, open houses, and other public-relations activities; and attend research meeting to report research progress and interact with other faculty and students. The successful candidate must be able to exercise appropriate, independent judgment; be able to interact and work well with faculty, other staff, and students; have experience working on solar cell materials; have knowledge of materials growth by CVD, PVD, and wet chemistry, and materials characterization by SEM, TEM, PL, UV-Vis absorption, and electrical transport; and have training in materials handling in research labs. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline is required. Prior experience in PVD, CVD, and wet chemistry for semiconductor material growth and the related material characterizations and at least 3 years of nanomaterials experience is preferred.
