Entergys Transmission Department will hire 8 interns studying Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or Accounting that are in their 3rd or 4th year of school or enrolled in graduate studies with a minimum GPA of 3.0 to work in the Arkansas Grid Substation Operations group, the Arkansas Grid Transmission Line group, the Project Management and Construction group, and the Transmission Operations System Operations Center, Training, Transmission Services, Operations Engineering, and Transmission Services groups which are located in Little Rock, Pine Bluff and Mabelvale areas in Arkansas.
Duties include:
Assisting engineers in day to day activities including performing project scoping and site visits, review of Transmission Line encroachments, preparing operational one:line drawings, management of the network model and deployment of facility rating changes, creation of a more detailed model used to improve the State Estimator, validating estimating prices and equipment units, ensuring material is properly ordered and staged for upcoming projects, managing projects that are in construction, completion of as:built documentation, participate in weekly planning coordination calls, work on special projects to assist in improving grid reliability, responding to equipment failures, NERC Clearance Remediation, Transmission Line database management, support of Business Analyst processes within Project Controls through data mining and reporting, develop tools to help the system operators, work with the Outage Coordination group to improve tools and assist in the coordination of planned outages, help create training modules, special projects associated with Real:Time Operations, perform research, manage records, Assist the Transmission Billing and Settlement departments by developing and implementing tools, work the DTS project, the relocation to the new Mabelvale facility and assist with preparations for ensuring the new control center is ready to become NERC certified. Travel is required for some of the positions.
